Sarah Sperling has a diverse and extensive work experience in the art industry. Sarah currently holds the position of Vice President of Museum Affairs at Cheekwood, a role they have been in since December 2022. Prior to this, Sarah was the Director of Development at Cheekwood from July 2022 to December 2022. Sarah also served as the Director of Individual Giving at Cheekwood from April 2020 to August 2022.

Sarah's early career involved working at prestigious art auction houses. Sarah was an Administrator for American Furniture and Decorative Arts at Christie's from April 2003 to March 2007, and before that, they served as a Registrar at Sotheby's Institute of Art from May 2002 to April 2003.

Sarah Sperling's education history begins in 1979 at the University School of Nashville, where they remained until 1992. During this time, they did not obtain a degree nor specify a field of study.

In 1992, Sarah attended Ithaca College and earned a Bachelor's degree in Art History. Sarah completed their studies in 1996.

Finally, from 2000 to 2002, Sarah pursued a Master's degree in History of American Decorative Arts at Parsons School of Design - The New School.
