Sean Horn has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Sean began their career in 1999 as a Unix Systems Administrator at Jacksonville Electric Authority, where they provided system support coverage for billing, financial, and critical operations software. Sean then moved on to Vistakon, a J&J Company, where they continued as a Unix Systems Administrator overseeing the configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of hardware and software servers.

In 2004, Sean joined Convergys as a Unix Systems Administrator, where they administered Sun hardware and software servers for ERM and CRM products, oversaw server configurations and maintenance, and managed a team of four administrators. Sean also worked at PharMerica as a Senior UNIX Engineer, responsible for administering HP Itanium hardware and managing data warehousing projects.

From 2006 to 2008, Sean worked at First Advantage Corporation as a Senior Unix Admin, where they conducted classes on disk storage systems and managed a multi-site Java EE B2B system. Sean then joined Taleo as a Lead SysAdmin, collaborating with Chef to optimize the Amazon AWS cloud and deploying various software tools for system monitoring.

In 2012, Sean joined Chef Software as a Support Engineer Customer Advocate, assisting customers with Chef products, troubleshooting, and testing high-availability systems. Sean progressed to a role as a Senior Customer SRE, focusing on the prevention of customer problems through knowledge base development and training. Currently, Sean is a Principal Customer SRE at Chef Software, providing advice and assistance with best practices and leadership to Fortune 500 companies utilizing on-prem and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions.

Sean Horn attended the University of Maryland from 2000 to 2005, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Sciences, with a focus on General studies.
