Shuja Zaidi has a diverse and extensive work experience in the energy and chemicals industry. Shuja started their career at Intertek- Caleb Brett... INC as a chemist and manager, where they tested crude oil and developed field-test methods. Shuja then moved on to ChemOil Corporation as a manager and executive vice president, taking charge of bunker fuel operations and overseeing quality control. Later, at Pilot Petroleum Corporation, they served as a senior executive vice president, responsible for trading, banking, and establishing credit lines for acquired companies. In Teekay Corporation, they worked as a consultant. Shuja Zaidi founded Chem-Energy Corporation, where they served as the president, CEO, and chief executive officer, leading the company in trading refined petroleum products and developing solar farms and battery systems in Texas. Additionally, they worked as an advisor for Eastern Standard Energy and Chemicals Corporation, assisting in price control systems and deregulating electricity in California.
Shuja Zaidi's education history includes a variety of degrees and research experiences. In 1968-1970, they attended Forman Christian College, where they obtained a F.Sc Pre-med degree with a focus on English, Urdu, Physics, Chemistry, and Biological Sciences. Shuja then proceeded to Government College University in Lahore, completing a Master of Science degree in Inorganic, Organic, and Biochemistry from 1972 to 1974. Following that, Shuja conducted postgraduate research on the toxicity of heavy metals in animals and fish at Aston University for the years 1974-1975. In 1976-1980, they pursued a Post Doctorate degree in Polymer Science at the University of Birmingham. Additionally, they did research on polymers, particularly freeze-dried variants, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1978. Later, in 2014-2015, Shuja attended Harvard Business School Online, focusing on Contract Law in the field of study known as TORT.
