Arie Verkaik has a robust background in maritime operations, spanning over two decades in various notable roles within the shipping industry. Currently serving as a Charterer for Chemgas Shipping BV since September 2014, Arie specializes in operating gas tankers across inland waterways in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and France. Previous experience includes a position as a Port Operator at Odfjell Netherlands b.v. in Rotterdam, where Arie facilitated the safe transit of chemical vessels, and as a Ship Operator at Essberger Tankers, overseeing travel instructions and client updates. Early career roles included Water Clerk/Operator at Vopak Agencies Rotterdam B.V. and Inchcape Shipping Services, with foundational military service from 1990 to 1991. Arie also possesses various educational credentials, including a certificate in cargadoor and proficiency in Dutch Sign Language.
