Nathan Shaffer has extensive work experience in health, safety, and environmental compliance. Nathan currently serves as the Director of HSE and Regulatory Compliance at CHEMSTREAM, INC. Nathan has also worked as a Local-Level Instructor and Certification Evaluator at the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy, Indiana County Public Safety Academy, and several community colleges. Nathan has served as an Emergency Medical Services Instructor at the Pennsylvania Department of Health Bureau of Emergency Medical Services and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Nathan was also the OEHS Compliance and Training Manager at Innovative Energy Resource Management. Additionally, Nathan has experience as the Owner/Principal Consultant at NDS Safety Consulting & Training Services, LLC and Safety Director at McCutcheon Enterprises, Inc. and Northeast Energy Management, Incorporated.

Nathan Shaffer, MPH, CIH, CSP, CHMM, has an extensive education history. Nathan obtained their Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree from the American Public University System, graduating in 2016. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health from Columbia Southern University in 2012. In 2011, Nathan completed an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Fire Science from Columbia Southern University.

In addition to their degrees, Nathan holds a Master Safety Administrator certification in Occupational Health & Safety, which they obtained from the National Association of Safety Professionals in 2008. Furthermore, they are a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), a credential they obtained from the Board for Global EHS Credentialing (BGC®) in November 2017.

Nathan also completed some undergraduate general education credits at Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania in 2002.
