CHEO Research Institute
Ofosu Adjei-Afriyie is a Master's student at the CHEO Research Institute, conducting research on the therapeutic use of a MuSK agonist drug in a mutant AGRIN congenital myasthenia syndrome mouse model under Dr. Hanns Lochmuller's supervision. Ofosu has a diverse background in research and administrative roles, including serving as an Administrative Assistant at Davidson and Associates Optometry Clinic, Program Support Staff at Ausome Ottawa, and a Central Poll Supervisor for Élections Canada. Previous research experience includes work as an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of Ottawa and as a Lead Student Investigator in the SEA-PHAGES Program at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Ofosu holds a Master's degree in Cellular and Molecular Medicine and has completed undergraduate studies in Translational and Molecular Medicine as well as Biomedical Sciences at the University of Ottawa. Early career experience includes positions as a Crew Member at McDonald's and a Food Safety and Quality Reassurance Technician at Cargill.
