Shawn Beug

Shawn Beug has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several years. Shawn started their career at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute in 2004 as a PhD Candidate, where they worked until 2009. Following this, they joined the CHEO Research Institute as a Postdoctoral Fellow from 2009 to 2015. During their time at CHEO, they also served as a Research Associate from 2016 to 2018 and later as a Scientist starting from 2018. Currently, Shawn Beug is an Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa, a position they have held since 2020.

Shawn Beug began their education in 1997 at the University of Regina, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Shawn completed this program in the year 2001. Afterwards, from 2001 to 2004, they enrolled at the University of Ottawa, where they earned a Master of Science degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology. Following their master's, they continued their studies at the same university, completing a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biochemistry from 2004 to 2009.
