Brody Smithwick

Director Of Inmate Educational Services at Cherokee County

Brody Smithwick founded and served as the Executive Director of Lion Life Community, an organization that provides educational services to inmates at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center. Brody offered courses in GED, English as a Second Language, Continuing Education Preparation, Entrepreneurship, Freedom from Addiction, Music, and Creative Writing, with the goal of equipping and inspiring students for a better future. Prior to starting Lion Life Community, Brody worked as the Director of Inmate Educational Services for Cherokee County starting in 2012.

Brody Smithwick obtained a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from The University of Georgia, where they studied from 2009 to 2012. Following this, they pursued further education at Kennesaw State University, obtaining a Master's degree in Professional Writing from 2017 to 2019.
