Bear Christensen has a diverse work experience spanning over 25 years. Bear began their career as a Law Clerk at Fredericks, Pelcyger, Hester, and White LLC in 1996 and worked there until 1998. Bear then worked as a Contract Attorney at Thomas A. Polich PC from June 1998 to August 1998, followed by an Associate Attorney role at Roger Keithley PC from September 1998 to December 1998. In 1998, they also worked at Treece, Alfrey, Musat, & Bosworth PC as an Associate Attorney from December 1998 to March 1999.
In 1999, Bear Christensen became a Research Intern at The National Conference of State Legislatures from June 1999 to September 1999. Bear then worked as a Contract Attorney at Maxtor Corporation from September 1999 to June 2001.

In 1994, Bear attended the Pre-Law Summer Institute at the American Indian Law Center, earning a certificate in Federal Indian Law. Bear then continued their education at the University of Colorado from 1994 to 1997, where they obtained a Juris Doctorate degree in Law. Additionally, Bear Christensen has an executive certification from the UNLV International Gaming Institute's Executive Development Program, although the specific year and month of obtaining this certification are not provided.
