John Carson

John is responsible for the legal, quality control, compliance, and legislative affairs operations of Cherry Creek Mortgage Company. He previously worked as a real estate attorney with Snell & Wilmer LLP. John served as the Regional Director for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development from 2001 to 2009, where he oversaw FHA, affordable housing, fair housing, and economic development programs in the Rocky Mountain West. John served for eleven years on Capitol Hill, working for three members of Congress in senior legislative positions. He also served as Staff Director for the Senate Banking Committee's Subcommittee on Housing and Transportation, where he was responsible for oversight of HUD, FHA, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac. John worked as an attorney at the Federal Trade Commission and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

John received his Bachelor of Arts degree and Juris Doctor degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder and his Master of Laws in Taxation degree from Georgetown University. He served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve for six years.
