James Nicholas

James Nicholas is an experienced educational leader currently serving as an Assistant Principal at Cherry Creek School District since July 2022. Prior to this role, James held the position of Assistant Principal at Denver Public Schools from August 2017 to July 2022 and Assistant Principal of Instruction at STRIVE Preparatory Schools from July 2016 to August 2017. James began a career in education as a 6th Grade Geography Teacher at DC Prep from June 2012 to June 2016 before working as an Educational Advocate at the Law Office of Carolyn Houck. Earlier roles included serving as Dean of Academic Support, Dean of Student Support, and Social Studies Teacher at DC Prep and teaching Social Studies at District of Columbia Public Schools from August 2003 to June 2005. James holds a National Principal Academy Fellowship degree from Relay Graduate School of Education and a Master's degree in Education Leadership from George Mason University, along with a Bachelor of Science in Social Studies-Secondary Education from Winona State University.
