David Smith

David Smith is the current Director at Cherry Health. Prior to this, they were the Director of FP&A and Joint Venture Reporting at Fresenius Medical Care from January 2011 to December 2014. David was responsible for managing the financial planning and analysis functions for the vascular access division of Fresenius Medical Care, and was responsible for revenues of $250M. Some of their key responsibilities included annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, monthly and quarterly reporting to Senior/Operations Management, and developing joint venture and operational reporting for this new division of Fresenius Medical Care.

Prior to their time at Fresenius Medical Care, David was the Accounting Director at ARAMARK Healthcare from January 2010 to December 2011. In this role, they managed the financial functions for the healthcare division of this food and facility service company, which had revenues of $1.8 billion. David led a team of 13 people who were responsible for financial reporting, general accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, revenue cycle, billing and accounts receivable, banking and treasury services, taxes, interface with internal and external auditors, and financial systems integration. Under David's leadership, the team was able to consolidate accounting FTEs by 45% while increasing customer service levels - saving $780K in the process. David also improved processes across the board, addressing non-value tasks and decreasing the monthly close process by one day.

David Smith has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Penn State University and an MBA in Finance from the University of San Diego. David is also certified by the State of Pennsylvania as a CPA.
