Assistant Director, Hair, Beauty, Hospitality & Retail Operations & Ellesmere Port Campus at Cheshire College

Andrea opened her own Salon in 1980 after leaving college, whereby she began to teach at South Cheshire College alongside completing her teaching qualifications. She continued to teach on a part-time basis alongside running her own business.

Andrea began to work for ‘Link Training’ and ‘Specialised Technical Services’ and ‘Quantum Training’. She delivered on a range of work based learning programmes both in the hairdressing industry and the wider jobs market for the unemployed.

In 1995, she returned to South Cheshire College and progressed from a part time lecturer to full time and then to Head of Curriculum for Hair and Beauty. She developed the department and expanded the range of provision including her own skills in Beauty and Complementary Therapy. Andrea was part of the successful team who aspired to achieving ‘Outstanding’ and Beacon College status and were seen to be sector leading.

In 2014, Andrea became Assistant Director of Faculty for Hair and Beauty and Hospitality and Retail Operations. Andrea has embraced a number of changes to the department and her vision is to cascade recent successes to developing the other areas in her department.
