Geoff Hilton

Assistant Director, Public Services, Sport, ESOL, Travel and Tourism, Community Sport & Leisure at Cheshire College

On graduating with a degree in sports science, Geoff entered the fitness industry with a passion for developing the health and fitness of all those with whom he worked. After several years as a personal trainer, he qualified as a teacher and furthered his education with a master’s degree. He initially entered the teaching profession to prepare new fitness and health professionals from levels one to five for a rapidly growing health and fitness sector, but went on to deliver PGCE teacher training programmes, work as an advanced practitioner to support and mentor new teachers and to lead the sports department for several years. Supporting learners to fulfil their potential and progress from college with the skills, knowledge and confidence ready for industry and/or university is his passion.
