Ruth Szolkowska

Vice Principial, Innovation, Curriculum & Quality at Cheshire College

Ruth has over 17 years’ experience in education and has been a senior leader since 2013. She is a qualified Teacher and Ofsted Inspector and has a background in quality assurance and curriculum development.

Before joining Cheshire College – South & West, Ruth led the rapid improvement of a large sixth form college. Her focus and expertise secured an improved Ofsted grade and the college achieved Grade 2 – Good. Prior to this, Ruth was Deputy Principal at an outstanding sixth form college with a national reputation for excellence. As Assistant Principal at an outstanding FE college, she led the transformational change of pastoral support and oversaw the exceptional outcomes of all A Level students.

Ruth is fully committed to the education of children, young people and adults. She has a proven record of supporting all groups of learners and staff to excel in all they do. She has been a School Governor and chaired the interim Executive Board of a secondary school with an academy order to convert.
