Shawn Skahan

Director Of Security, Environmental Services & Patient Transport at Cheshire Medical Center

Shawn Skahan has a strong background in security and law enforcement. Shawn began their career in the New Hampshire State Police in 1997 as a Uniformed Trooper, enforcing criminal and motor vehicle laws. After two years, they were assigned to the detectives division where they conducted criminal investigations. Shawn was then promoted to Patrol Sergeant, responsible for leadership and mentoring of other troopers. In 2013, they became Detective-Sergeant-Supervisor of Detectives, managing criminal investigations and providing training to local agencies. In 2019, they joined the NH State Police Polygraph Unit as the Commander and Supervisor. Shawn oversaw all polygraph examinations and provided oversight for examiners. Later in 2019, they joined Cheshire Medical Center as the Director of Security, Environmental Services & Patient Transport. Shawn led the security, EVS, and patient transport departments, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients and staff. Overall, Skahan has accumulated extensive experience in managing security operations and conducting criminal investigations.

Shawn Skahan holds a Master's Degree in Religion/Religious Studies which was obtained from Liberty University between 2008 and 2010. Prior to that, Skahan completed a Bachelor of Business Administration - BBA degree in Business Administration and Management, General from Franklin Pierce University between 1992 and 1996. Skahan also obtained an additional certification in Incident Command Structure (ICS100 and 700) from FEMA in 2020.
