Jenny Ingber Ph.D. has a diverse work experience in the fields of education and science. Jenny has held various positions throughout their career, starting as a Science Teacher at the NYC Department of Education from 2001 to 2005. Jenny then worked as a Graduate Research Assistant and Lecturer at Teachers College, Columbia University from 2005 to 2008. In 2006, they became the Curriculum Coordinator for the Space Science Center at the NYC Department of Education, a role they held until 2008. From 2008 to 2010, they worked as a Consultant for National Geographic. In 2009, they joined UCLA as an Assistant Director of Science Programs at Center X, where they stayed until 2010. From 2010 to 2016, they worked as the Director of Science Education Initiatives at Bank Street College of Education. Their most recent position was at the American Museum of Natural History, where they served as the Director of Children and Family Learning and The Science and Nature Program from 2016 to 2023. Currently, they are the Chief Executive Officer at Chess in the Schools, a position they have held since 2023.
Jenny Ingber, Ph.D., has an extensive education history starting with their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Chemistry, and Secondary Education from the University of Miami between 1997 and 2001. Following this, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Teaching Chemistry at New York University from 2002 to 2004. In 2004, Jenny obtained a Permanent Certification in 7-12 Biology, Chemistry, and General Science from the New York State Education Department. Their academic journey culminated in their earning a Ph.D. in Science Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, where they studied from 2004 to 2009.
