Darren Girardeau

Darren Girardeau has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Darren started their career in 2003 as a Patient Access Registrar at Chester County Hospital/Penn Medicine and later worked as an Emergency Department Technician. In 2007, they joined Christiana Care Health System as a Staff Nurse. Darren then worked at Penn Medicine (University of Pennsylvania Health System) as a Flight & Critical Care Transport Nurse in 2011 and at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in the same role in 2014.

In 2012, they joined Uwchlan Ambulance Corps as a PHRN and remained in the role until 2016. Darren also worked at Chester County Hospital/Penn Medicine as a Staff Nurse & Charge Nurse from 2010 to 2014.

From 2013 to 2016, they served as an Administrative Supervisor at Chester County Hospital/Penn Medicine. Darren then became a Clinical Manager from 2016 to 2017 before being promoted to Director of Emergency Services until 2022.

From 2022 to 2023, Girardeau served as the Director of Emergency and Nursing Administrative Services at Chester County Hospital/Penn Medicine. Darren is currently the Senior Director of Nursing, overseeing various departments and functions including the Emergency Department, Patient Transport, and Nursing Administrative Services.

In addition to their healthcare roles, Girardeau also worked as an Organist at Parkside U.C.C. since 2018. Overall, they have a strong background in emergency and critical care nursing, leadership, and administrative roles.

Darren Girardeau received a Diploma in 2001 from Tri-Valley High School. Darren then pursued a Bachelor of Music degree at West Chester University of Pennsylvania from 2001 to 2005. In 2006, they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Jefferson Health. Later, they completed a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in Nursing Administration from West Chester University of Pennsylvania from 2013 to 2015. Currently, they are pursuing a Post Master's Certificate in AGACNP at Thomas Jefferson University, which they are expected to complete in 2024.

Darren has obtained multiple certifications throughout their career. These include certifications in areas such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program. Darren also holds certifications such as Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN), Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), and Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse.

Additionally, Darren has obtained additional certifications related to various professional skills and areas of expertise. These include certifications in areas such as Verbal Judo, Building High-Performance Teams, and Bias in Decision-Making. Darren also holds the Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) certification.
