Kathleen Whelan

Kathleen Whelan is a seasoned art educator and independent disability advocate currently serving as a Studio Art Teacher at Chester High School in Chester Upland School District since October 2018. With a Master of Fine Arts degree from Brooklyn College and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Miami University, Kathleen has also founded and co-leads the ASPEN Adult Social Group and played a significant role in FEMA's Superstorm Sandy recovery efforts. As an advocate, Kathleen provides professional special education advocacy, training, and mentoring services while maintaining a private practice since 2011. Additional experience includes serving as a legal assistant and fine arts instructor, where Kathleen was recognized with a Jostens Publishing Award.
