Richie Owen

Richie Owen has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several years. Richie is currently the Head of Health and Safety at Chester Zoo, where they lead all aspects of health, safety, and environmental compliance. In this role, they are responsible for the safety of the employees and volunteers, as well as the millions of visitors that come to the zoo each year. Prior to this, Richie held the position of Head of Health and Safety at the Royal Horticultural Society, where they ensured the safety and security of their members and visitors across multiple sites. Richie also played a key role in risk mitigation and managing insurance claims. Before that, Richie worked as a Health and Safety Advisor at the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, where they conducted inspections and risk assessments to prevent workplace accidents. Additionally, they have experience as a Founding Director at Alexander Owen Consultancy Limited, where they collaborated with hotel groups for the development and operation of spa and leisure facilities.
