Clay Bowles

Clay Bowles currently serves as the Deputy County Administrator for Chesterfield County, a position held since October 2014, where oversight of the Community Operations portfolio is a primary responsibility. This includes management of several departments such as General Services, Information Technology, and Parks & Recreation, along with serving as a liaison to law enforcement and emergency services. Prior to this role, Clay Bowles was the Director of General Services, where responsibilities included the administration of airport services, facilities maintenance, and emergency communications systems. Clay Bowles also held the position of Chief of Administration at the Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office from April 1999 to October 2014. Academic qualifications include a Master of Public Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Randolph-Macon College.
