Marlie Smith

Marlie Smith serves as the Assistant Director of Recreation for Chesterfield County since January 2021, overseeing the management and direction of the recreation division, which includes special projects, outdoor recreation, sports tourism, and fiscal management for over 360,000 residents. As the Founder and Coach of ALL IN MTB since July 2020, Marlie specializes in personalized mountain biking coaching, drawing on over a decade of experience. Previous roles include Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Greenville, Deputy Director of Parks and Recreation, Parks Operations Manager for the City of Richmond, Park Coordinator for James City County, and Program Director at the Jamestown 4-H Educational Center. Marlie’s educational credentials include an Executive Master's in Natural Resources, a Professional Certificate in International Sustainability Consulting, and multiple certifications related to parks and recreation management, emphasizing a strong commitment to sustainability and community engagement.
