Steve Sanderson

Steve Sanderson, CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE, has extensive experience in internal audit and tax preparation. Currently serving as the Assistant Director of Internal Audit at Chesterfield County since March 2015, Steve has progressed through various roles within the organization, including Audit Manager, Senior Auditor, and Staff Auditor. Prior to Chesterfield County, Steve worked as an Associate at Brown Edwards in early 2022, focusing on tax preparation, and as an Accountant at Mitchell, Wiggins & Company from February 2014 to April 2021, handling seasonal tax preparation for S-Corps, Partnerships, and Individuals. Additional experience includes serving as Deputy Treasurer II (Accountant) for the County of Dinwiddie from July 2013 to February 2015 and as a Staff Accountant at Smith Sapp - Certified Public Accountants and Consultants from December 2007 to July 2013. Steve holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Coastal Carolina University, earned between 2004 and 2007, and attended the University of South Carolina in 2003-2004.
