Bala Devakottai

Bala Devakottai is a Global Olefins Technology Engineer at Chevron Phillips Chemical Company since October 2014, focusing on decarbonization efforts and roadmapping for Net Zero emissions within US and Middle East plants. Previous experience includes roles as a Senior Process Technologist for Shell and as a Consulting Engineer at LyondellBasell, where responsibilities encompassed production engineering, leading capacity improvement teams, mentoring engineers, and ensuring environmental compliance. Bala began a career at Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation as a Principal Engineer, specializing in the design and start-up of ethylene plants. Bala holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kentucky, earned between 1988 and 1990.
