Tom Hackley has extensive experience in architecture, planning, and consulting. As a Docent at the Chicago Architecture Foundation since March 2013, Tom conducts tours and presents on architectural history in Chicago's Loop. Tom is the owner of etc consulting since May 2010 and has served as a Planning Commissioner for Chikaming Township since April 2003. Tom holds a Master of Urban Planning from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts in History, Economics, and Political Science from the same institution. Additionally, Tom has a certificate in Building Analysis and Envelope Professional from the Building Performance Institute, obtained in 2010.

Our mission is to inspire people to discover why design matters.The Chicago Architecture Foundation (CAF) was founded in 1966 to save the historic Glessner House. Since then, CAF has grown to become one of the largest cultural organizations inChicago. For more than 50 years, our 450 volunteer docents and our educators have shared the stories of Chicago architecture with millions of Chicagoans and visitors. In 2016, CAF served more than 670,000 people.
