Robert Schmidt

Robert Schmidt has over four decades of work experience in finance and business development. Robert started their career as a Controller at Insurance Benefit Administrators in 1982 and then moved on to become a Controller at Unispond Marketing in 1986. In 1990, they joined Rapp Collins Worldwide as Vice President of Finance & Operations, where they led a team that improved internal processes. In 1997, they became the CFO at Latham SRM, where they remained until 2008. From 2008 to 2018, they served as the Comptroller at the Chicago Association of REALTORS®, where they managed accounting and financial reporting. In 2018, they were promoted to Vice President of Finance and Business Development, overseeing the accounting team and implementing new budgeting and reporting systems. In 2020, they became the Senior Vice President of Finance & Business Development, before ultimately becoming the Chief Financial Officer in 2022. In this role, they are a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, human resources, and facilities.

Robert Schmidt completed their education at Benedictine University from 1989 to 1991, earning an MBA in Finance and Management. Prior to that, they attended the University of Illinois Chicago from 1977 to 1981 and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Additionally, Robert Schmidt obtained several certifications including a Data Analytics Core Concepts Certificate from AICPA in March 2023, a Not-for-Profit Certificate I from AICPA in January 2018, and a Certified Public Accountant designation from the Illinois Board of Examiners in August 1983.
