Anna Lisa Somera is the Chief Executive Officer of Rhaeos, leading efforts to enhance the care for patients with hydrocephalus through the development of FlowSense, a noninvasive thermal sensor for monitoring ventricular shunt function. In addition to this role, Anna Lisa serves as an advisor to the Entrepreneurial Fellows Program at Chicago Biomedical Consortium, mentors SBIR/STTR grants within the Illinois University Incubator Network, and contributes as a subject matter expert at the Polsky Center at the University of Chicago. As a board member of Women In Bio, Anna Lisa has also held various consulting and leadership roles, including Vice President of Quality and Regulatory Affairs at Briteseed and American BioOptics, and was a grant mentor at Argonne National Laboratory. Anna Lisa holds a Master of Science in Cell Biology and Anatomy from Rush University, a joint MBA and Master of Public Health from the University of Illinois Chicago, a Clinical Trials Management and Regulatory Compliance Certificate from the University of Chicago, and a BS in Biology and Anthropology from Loyola University Chicago.
