Matt Gray is currently the Vice President of Business Strategy & Analytics for the Chicago Blackhawks. Prior to this, they were the Director of Strategy & Analytics for the E15 Group from May 2017 to January 2021. In this role, they led a national team of business strategists and analysts supporting professional, collegiate, and minor league sports teams and entertainment venues in the areas of ticketing, sponsorship, technology, retail, and F&B.
Some of the accomplishments Matt has achieved include developing and directing execution of end-to-end strategies for world-class venues including Mercedes-Benz Stadium, State Farm Arena, United Center, Barclays Center, STAPLES Center, Chase Center, O2 Arena, T-Mobile Arena, Wrigley Field, Dodger Stadium, Levi’s Stadium, and more. Additionally, they drove analytical preparation and execution of preeminent events including Super Bowl LIII, College Football National Championship, NBA All-Star, NHL All-Star, MLS Cup, US Open, PGA Championship, and more.
In their time at E15 Group, Matt also designed new performance metrics and reporting to drive top and bottom-line financial performance, fan experience, and employee engagement for front office executives and team ownership as well as at the league level for the NBA and NHL. Furthermore, they led the design and development of E15’s applied advanced financial modeling, artificial intelligence, and machine learning capabilities (such as pricing and labor optimization models
Matt Gray has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Emory University - Goizueta Business School, with a focus in strategy, finance, and sports business. Their undergraduate degree is in finance and business law from Penn State University. Matt also has certification from Tableau Software as a Tableau Certified Associate, from NACVA as a Master Analyst in Financial Forensics (MAFF), and from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
