Alison Moran-Powers

Alison Moran-Powers is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in freelance writing, reporting, and education. As the owner of Moore and More! since 2015, Alison has undertaken diverse freelance media projects. Alison has served as a feature reporter for Southwest News Publishing since 2013, focusing on the Des Plaines Valley. Since 2017, Alison has been a proofreading instructor at the Discovery Center, developing curriculum for adult students. In their role as Foundation Relations Specialist for the Chicago Children's Advocacy Center, Alison achieved significant grants and strengthened partnerships. Previously, Alison contributed as a "Token Female" columnist for ChicagoNow, covering women's sports and issues. Other roles include Foundation & Corporate Relations Manager at Chicago Child Care Society and various guest lecturing positions at Moraine Valley Community College and Columbia College Chicago. Alison holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and History from Drake University.
