Denise Hernandez

Assistant Director of Programs & Internships at Chicago Council on Science and Technology

Denise Hernandez joined the Chicago Council on Science and Technology in the spring of 2022 as the organization’s Program Manager. She received her B.A in Physics from Claremont McKenna College in the summer of 2021. Prior to joining C2ST, she worked in various physics labs at the University of Chicago and Northwestern University as a research assistant. While earning her undergraduate degree, Denise explored her various interests outside of STEM fields, where she found a passion for learning about and practicing restorative justice/justice education. Through this pursuit, she participated in an Inside-Out Prison Exchange program (the only initiative in the country that provides incarcerated people with a pathway to receiving a Bachelor’s degree). Denise also became an EnviroLab Asia fellow, where she conducted anthropological research on environmental issues in Asia.
