Aref Abdellatif holds a Master of Science in Threat and Response Management from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Fire Services Administration and Emergency Management Administration from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. At the Chicago Fire Department since 2003, Aref has served in various roles, including Member of the Racial Equity Action Plan, Assistant to the Special Project Chief, and Infection Control Officer. Aref also functions as a Firefighter/Paramedic with extensive experience in emergency response and training coordination. In addition to the Chicago Fire Department, Aref is involved with Oakton Community College as the EMT Program Coordinator and has served as an instructor for Chicago Public Schools' Fire Training Academy. Aref's contributions extend to Chicago Event Management as a Medical Coordinator and the Office of Emergency Management & Communications as a volunteer instructor, emphasizing a commitment to community safety and education.
