Leo Garza

Leo Garza possesses extensive law enforcement experience, currently serving as the Chief of Detectives at the Chicago Heights Police Department since September 2009, where responsibilities include managing general and narcotics investigation teams, overseeing major case investigations, and analyzing crime patterns. Previous roles include Lieutenant and Detective Sergeant, focusing on team management and investigative work. Earlier in their career, Garza served as a Patrol Sergeant and Patrol Officer, highlighting skills in training officers and conducting preliminary investigations. Additional experience includes working as a Correctional Officer with the Cook County Sheriff's Department. Garza holds a Master of Science in Public Safety Administration from Calumet College of St. Joseph and two Bachelor’s degrees from Colorado State University Global, one in Cybersecurity and one in Public Management.
