Peter Alter

Peter Alter has experience working as a Curator at the Chicago History Museum. Peter then moved on to become the Chief Historian & Director of the Studs Terkel Center for Oral History at the same museum, starting in April 2015.

Peter Alter obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in History and International Studies from Wabash College between 1986 and 1990. Peter furthered their education at the University of Washington between 1990 and 1992, where they earned a Master of Arts degree in History. Lastly, they pursued a Ph.D. in History at the University of Arizona from 1993 to 2000.
