Simon Gomez Gallego

Simon Gomez Gallego is an accomplished percussionist with extensive experience in various orchestras and educational settings. Currently serving as a percussionist with the Chicago Philharmonic and principal timpanist for the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra, Rockford Symphony Orchestra, and South Bend Symphony Orchestra, Simon has also held the position of interim camp director at Tennis On The Lake since August 2021. Additionally, Simon has been a percussion instructor at The People's Music School and previously at El Sistema Ravinia. Simon's freelance work spans over a decade, complemented by a strong educational background that includes a Post-Master's Certificate in Percussion Performance from DePaul University and advanced degrees from the University of Miami.
