Chasity Gunn

Chasity Gunn is an accomplished educator and poet with extensive experience in teaching and writing. Currently serving as a Poet in Residence at the Chicago Poetry Center since September 2021, Chasity teaches poetry in elementary and middle school classrooms within Chicago Public Schools. Chasity has also held a professorship at Elgin Community College since May 2019 and worked as a writing instructor at Judson University from August 2017 to May 2021. Other roles include Softlines Manager at DICK'S Sporting Goods and a writing coach conducting dissertation editing and student writing improvement strategies. Previous experience includes working as a clinician at Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes, an Executive Team Leader at Target, and a member of the poetry editorial board at Waterstone Literary Journal. Chasity holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Belmont University and a Master of Fine Arts in Poetry from Hamline University.
