The Chicago Poetry Center promotes poetry across Chicago through a variety of programs. Our primary missions are to provide free and public poetry readings in Chicago, to provide paid teaching opportunities to Chicago poets, and to provide creative literacy in the form of the Hands On Stanzas program to Chicago Public School students. Founded in 1974, the Chicago Poetry Center is nonprofit arts organization.
