Darshita Jain

Darshita Jain is an accomplished professional in the arts and community outreach sector, currently serving as a Board Member at the Chicago Poetry Center and the Director of Community Outreach at Lillstreet Art Center, where efforts are focused on redesigning the Artist in Residence program to enhance arts access. Prior experience includes roles such as Director of Outreach and Artist Programs at Newcity, Book Reviewer at Woman Made Gallery, and Public Programs and Community Dialogue Lead, where strategic development of public programs and community engagement were prioritized. Darshita co-founded Povera, leading spoken word workshops for disadvantaged youth in collaboration with Teach for India, and has contributed to various publications, including serving as Editor for Literature at F Newsmagazine. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in New Arts Journalism and a Master of Fine Arts in New Arts Journalism from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, alongside a Bachelor's degree in Fashion/Apparel Design from the National Institute of Fashion Technology India.
