Larry O. Dean

Poet-in-residence at Chicago Poetry Center

Larry O. Dean has extensive experience as an English educator, currently serving as an English Instructor at Northeastern Illinois University since August 2008, specializing in creative writing and various literature courses. Additionally, Larry has held adjunct instructor positions at the College of Lake County and McHenry County College, teaching English composition. Since August 2003, Larry has been a Poet-in-Residence at the Chicago Poetry Center, guiding students in poetry analysis and writing. Previous teaching roles include positions at Indiana University Northwest and Joliet Junior College. Larry's educational background includes a Master of Arts from Northeastern Illinois University, an MFA in Creative Writing-Poetry from Murray State University, and a BGS from the University of Michigan.
