Rene A Dunn is an experienced professional with a diverse background in law enforcement, community services, and organizational leadership. Currently serving as Assistant Director in the Office of Constitutional Policing and Reform and Assistant Director of Recruitment and Retention at the Chicago Police Department since July 2017, Rene has previously held significant roles such as Executive Director at Orpheum Children's Science Museum and Assistant to the Chief of Police for Community Services and Public Information Officer for the City of Champaign. Additional experience includes program management at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, nursing home administration, senior counseling at Lincoln's ChalleNGe Academy, and mental health specialization at Cook County Jail. Rene holds a Master’s degree in Public Safety and Law Enforcement Leadership from the University of St. Thomas and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois Chicago. Further qualifications include a certification in Recruiting and Talent Acquisition from Cornell University.
