Carly Anderson serves as an Investigator at the Chicago Public Schools Office of Inspector General since September 2022, previously holding the position of Investigations Specialist. Prior experience includes serving as a Victim Advocate at YWCA Metropolitan Chicago from June 2021 to September 2022 and as a Prevention Intern at the Family Shelter Service of Metropolitan Family Services DuPage in early 2021, where Carly facilitated presentations on teen dating violence and led programming related to Erin’s Law, boundaries, and consent. Carly Anderson holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Criminology from Illinois State University.

The mission of the Office of the Inspector General is to ensure integrity in the operations of the Chicago Public Schools by conducting meaningful, accurate and thorough investigations, audits and reviews into allegations of waste, fraud, financial mismanagement and misconduct by CPS employees, Board members, vendors, etc. The OIG’s General Investigations Unit (GIU) reviews the Board’s systems, practices and procedures to determine their efficacy in preventing waste, fraud and financial mismanagement. The OIG's Sexual Allegations Unit (SAU) investigates allegations of sexual misconduct by a CPS-affiliated adult, including employees, contractors, vendors and charter schools, where the victim is a CPS student and/or a minor. The OIG’s Performance Analysis Unit (PAU) conducts data analysis and performance reviews to make recommendations and improvements to CPS programs and processes.
