Georgine Gianakopoulos

Georgine Gianakopoulos is an experienced education professional with a strong background in special education. Currently serving as a Special Education Case Manager and MTSS Lead at Chicago Public Schools since September 2015, Georgine organizes and facilitates IEP and 504 meetings while maintaining communication with parents regarding student progress. Previously, as a Special Education Resource Teacher at Chicago Public Schools from September 2013 to September 2014, Georgine developed and managed IEPs, implemented curriculum aligned with Common Core State Standards, and utilized evidence-based practices to support students with disabilities. Georgine's career began as a Special Education Teaching Assistant at Wilmette District 39, where support was provided to students with profound disabilities while collaborating with teachers to differentiate lesson plans. Georgine holds a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Administration from North Park University and a Master of Education in Special Education from National Louis University, along with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from DePaul University.
