Kathleen Hurley

Kathleen Hurley is an experienced educator currently serving as an Assistant Principal at Chicago Public Schools since January 2022. Previously, Kathleen held the position of STEAM Instructional Coach at Mary Gage Peterson Elementary from September 2019 to December 2021, where responsibilities included leading instructional leadership teams, coaching new teachers, and planning professional development. As the first STEM teacher at the same school from August 2014 to June 2019, Kathleen implemented the Project Lead the Way curriculum for K-8 students. Kathleen's early career included participation as a Teach For America Corps Member and serving in various roles at the University of Cincinnati, where leadership and research skills were developed. Kathleen holds multiple degrees, including a Master of Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Science in Food & Nutrition from the University of Cincinnati.
