Mat Thies

Mat Thies is an experienced communications professional with a diverse background in design, project management, and operations. Currently serving as a Senior Communications Specialist at Chicago Public Schools since February 2017, Mat has previously held various roles such as Operations Manager and Program Coordinator within the same organization. Prior experience includes serving as a Design Consultant for The Global Sleepover, where responsibilities involved enhancing the NGO's digital presence and digitizing their books, and as a Consultant at Opower, focusing on Salesforce database management. Additionally, Mat worked as a Project Coordinator for the Office of the Chief Technology Officer in the DC Government, implementing customer service measurement tools, and spent eight years at the Chicago Transit Authority as a Senior Graphic Designer and Project Manager. Early career experience includes working as Music Director and On-Air Talent at WEIU-FM 88.9. Mat holds a BA in Graphic Design from Eastern Illinois University.
