Melody D. Laviste

Melody D. Laviste is an experienced professional with a diverse background in operations and visitor services within public and nonprofit sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Business Operations Specialist at Chicago Public Schools since May 2021, Melody has played a key role in supporting one of the largest school districts in the United States. Prior to CPS, Melody worked as a Community Affairs Contractor at ITW, and as an Operations Administrator for the Chicago Zoological Society at Brookfield Zoo, contributing to conservation efforts. Melody also held leadership positions at Choose Chicago, where the visitor services was reimagined, as well as at the Chicago Office of Tourism and Culture, overseeing strategic initiatives for visitor programs. Earlier experience includes serving as Special Projects Manager at the City of Chicago, managing cultural and tourism events. Melody holds a Bachelor of Science degree from DePaul University.
