Monica Benson

Monica Benson is a seasoned professional in arts management and music education, currently serving as the Director of Education and Community Engagement at Chicago Sinfonietta since March 2023. In this role, Monica has led innovative community partnerships, notably a successful collaboration with the Museum of Contemporary Art that resulted in three sold-out performances of "Moby Dick; or, The White Whale," and organized the Chicago Sinfonietta HBCU Homecoming Tour, fostering connections with Spelman College students. Prior to this, Monica was the Executive Director at Fulcrum Point New Music Project, where significant achievements included managing a $350,000 budget, securing a $75,000 grant from the Walder Foundation, and enhancing audience engagement by 40%. Additional experience includes serving as General Manager at Merit School of Music, various roles in performance and instruction at distinguished institutions, and maintaining a commitment to arts education. Monica holds a Master of Music and a Bachelor of Music, both in Classical Music Performance, from DePaul University.
