Kwame Opam is an accomplished media professional currently serving as the Deputy Managing Editor of News at the Chicago Sun-Times since October 2023. Prior experience includes working as the Strategy and Operations Deputy for Live & Express at The New York Times, where responsibilities involved collaboration with breaking news teams across the U.S. Prior roles also encompass serving as Senior Producer of Digital Strategy at JTS Productions LLC for Apple TV+, where Opam oversaw the creation of award-winning digital content, and various editorial positions at The New York Times, Vox Media, and Gawker Media, contributing significantly to digital storytelling and news coverage. Opam holds a Master of Arts in Media Studies from The New School and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Stony Brook University.
