Mariah Rush is an accomplished journalist currently serving as a Staff Reporter for the Chicago Sun-Times since June 2022, focusing on the South and West sides of Chicago as a Report for America corps member. Previously, Mariah worked as a National Real-Time Reporter for McClatchy from October 2021 to May 2022, covering midwestern news and national internet culture. Mariah's experience also includes a role as a Don Wycliffe Fellow at the Chicago Tribune Media Group and significant leadership at The Observer, where Mariah led a team of approximately 100 staffers as Managing Editor. Additional roles include freelance writing for the South Bend Tribune's Arts and Entertainment section, audience engagement at the Tampa Bay Times, and internships at The Philadelphia Inquirer and the South Bend Tribune. Mariah earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame in 2021 and holds a high school diploma from Adams High School.
