James Cavallero

James Cavallero currently serves as a member of the Chicago Board of Education Special Education Advisory Committee, where James was appointed by President Jianan Shi. With extensive experience in the Chicago Teachers Union since 2004, James has held various roles including Organizer, Trustee, Delegate for Chicago Academy High School, Area Vice President, Chair of the Special Education Committee, and District Organizer. James's tenure in education includes being a Special Education and Math Teacher at Chicago Public Schools from 1994 to 2020 and teaching at Southern Human Services Therapeutic Day School earlier in their career. James has a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and Teaching from the University of Illinois Chicago, acquired in 1991.
