Alan Kay has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Alan started their career in 1988 as a Sports Writer, Associate Editor, and Managing Editor for various newspapers and publications. During this time, they earned numerous awards for their sports writing and covered events such as the Chicago Bulls' sixth NBA championship season and the University of Wisconsin hockey and basketball teams.

In 1998, Alan worked as a Sales Representative at Imagetec LP for a year before joining Tree Towns Reprographics, Inc. as a Sales Executive. At Tree Towns, they sold reprographic services and supplies to architects, engineers, contractors, and advertising firms. Alan managed a large number of accounts, maintained customer relationships, and developed new leads.

From 2009 to 2017, Alan served as an Account Executive at BluEdge (formerly NRI Chicago), where they provided graphic and content solutions to design, architecture, engineering, and construction professionals. Alan was responsible for delivering color prints and software solutions to the creative community, marketers, and artists.

In 2018, Alan became a Business Development Manager at Modagrafics, an eco-friendly print solutions provider. Alan targeted new business opportunities and built relationships with prospects in various markets. Modagrafics specializes in interior and exterior graphics, point-of-sale displays, trade show displays, and fleet graphics.

In 2017, Alan also became a member and freelance sports researcher/writer for the Society for International Hockey Research, where they continued their passion for sports research and writing.

Most recently, Alan joined the Chicago Tribune Media Group in 2019 as a Media Advertising Sales Representative. Alan is responsible for creating media and marketing programs that leverage the Tribune's portfolio of publications, targeting new prospect accounts, and maintaining partnerships with clients.
