Carlos Vences has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Carlos began their career as an Intern at Mercer from July 2009 to June 2013. Following this, they worked as a Mentor at SGA Youth & Family Services in May 2014, where they helped mentees find employment and organized meetings to discuss their goals. From June 2014 to August 2017, Carlos served as an Administrative Assistant and Intake Worker at Avance Counseling & Psychotherapy Center.

In 2016, Carlos joined Azteca Granite and Marble Inc. as an Operations Manager, a role they continue to hold. At Sherwin-Williams, Carlos worked as a Sales Associate from February 2017 to August 2017.

Carlos then transitioned into the marketing and advertising field. Carlos started as an Advertising Sales Intern at Chicago Tribune Media Group in March 2018, where they assisted businesses in enhancing brand value. In November 2018, Carlos became a Business Acquisition Specialist at the same company. In this role, they developed customized marketing plans, managed complete marketing campaigns, and utilized innovative tools to attract new business.

Finally, in March 2021, Carlos was promoted to the position of Senior Media Account Executive at Chicago Tribune Media Group, where they continue to excel in their responsibilities.

Carlos Vences attended Cristo Rey Jesuit High School from 2009 to 2013, where they obtained their high school diploma. Carlos then joined the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2013 to 2018, earning a Bachelor's degree in Psychology & Spanish. In 2016, they participated in a study abroad program at the Gustolab Institute Center for Food and Culture in Rome, Italy. Carlos also had the opportunity to study abroad in Granada, Spain for a semester in 2017 at CEGRÍ - International Centre of Higher Learning.
